Wallace Woo is a Hong Kong-born artist based in Paris, working at the intersection of acrylic fluid painting and Eastern contemplative aesthetics. With a background in fashion makeup artistry, he developed a sensitive eye for texture, tone, and fluid form—culminating in his signature technique, "Acrylic with Ink Spirit." This approach uses fast-drying acrylics to evoke the spontaneity and elegance of traditional ink painting.
His work embodies the tension between control and release, presence and absence, shaped by his ongoing Vipassana meditation practice. Woo is the author of The Dimension of Sedimentation, a theoretical text introducing "Stalactite Aesthetics" and "Geological Abstraction."
Through his work, he invites viewers into a space of quiet reflection, where time itself becomes visible through layered sedimentation.

Wallace Woo's work exists in the space between fluidity and intention. Using acrylics to emulate the spirit of ink, he shapes each piece through a quiet choreography of breath, movement, and awareness. What may seem spontaneous is, in truth, a deliberate process where control meets surrender. Trained in fashion and beauty, Woo once shaped appearances; now he is drawn to what lies beneath form—the softness within silence, the clarity inside restraint.
His "Acrylic with Ink Spirit" technique works with muted tones, slow transitions, and minimal gestures, echoing the emptiness and grace of traditional ink painting. Vipassana meditation is at the heart of his practice, teaching him to observe without grasping and create without forcing. Each canvas becomes a mirror of the inner state, a space where pigment, gravity, and presence engage in silent dialogue.
Woo does not seek to decorate but to offer a space for pause—a moment of still reflection. His recent Stalactite series explores these ideas through the concept of "Inner Geology," inviting viewers into what he calls "Cave Time"—a slowing down that allows for the sedimentation of experience.
